This is a high effort filtering and encoding for Kimi wo Tsumugu Anime PV. slow.pics compare: https://slow.pics/c/pK58QeIp
We collect all the available YouTube sources, and then vsdenoise.frequency_merge specifically 400, 401, 271, 313, and a vsdenoise.deblock_qed deblocked 137 with a custom adder in higher frequencies. This should give a much better quality as a start. After that, we use a very protective MVTools to somewhat stabilise the unstable temporal details which seems to be an issue with these YouTube sources. At last, we apply a medium strength deband via vsdeband.pfdeband with placebo_deband to remove the bandings.
For encode, it seems like 5fish/SVT-AV1-PSY can preserve the lineart here more faithfully at the same filesize, so we use Jun 17 version of 5fish/SVT-AV1-PSY for this encode. We use a very high quality --crf 11.00 for this encode. Other parameters includes --lineart-psy-bias 7 --texture-psy-bias 7 with --satd-bias 0.50 to further encourage the encoder to faithfully retain the lineart, and --dlf-bias-max-dlf 2,0 --dlf-sharpness 7 --texture-cdef-max-cdef 0,0,0,0 to limit the encoder but still try to let it deal with some of the mosquito noise in the source. For the film grain layer, we apply a less visible layer of medium size noise onto the video.
Thanks to all the people creating the tools, plugins and vsfunc's that make this possible, and thanks to everyone in the community for teaching me, pointing out issues, and giving me advice.
